Offering research-based feedback for the mobile-version of the NCDHHS COVID-19 hub
... but the mobile version is a little difficult to use. My team and I conducted extensive research to offer feedback to the NCDHHS to improve their mobile version of the COVID-19 hub. This was a particularly significant project, as we completed it during the pandemic when traffic to the site was at its highest.
Our group interviewed 9 people to test the usability of the NCDHHS website, with a focus on the COVID-19 hub. Users were asked to open the NCDHHS website on their phone, share their screens with us, and follow our instructions as we read through the script found here. We asked the users to complete a series of tasks as we observed to measure the level of difficulty of completing the basic tasks. In the end, we discovered some minor and some major problems with the mobile version of the website (our findings are linked below).
